eek a post/Update crossover [Jul. 4th, 2009|09:16 am]
[mood | accomplished]

Vacation started Thursday at noon.
I was lucky enough to work a 7 to 12 shift and the boss man decided to close the office Friday.

Thursday morning I took Shadow in for dental work (7am), and later (7:30pm) I drove M to work so I could take Mckenna in for shots and to pick up the cat (8:30).
Shadow ended up having a top K-9 tooth removed... but he took it like a trooper and is doing great. Painkillers sure help!
The thing about taking M to work meant I needed to retrieve him also... So at 4:30am Steph and I go get him and we all have Breakfast at Denny’s.
Visited with Dea later the same day at her pool :P, which was an excellent way of dealing with the heat wave were having. I know, summer = HOT

Vacation this year means I'll be off work till at least the 14th/15th it's a good chunk of time don't you think? :)

Today we're going to the coast to take a train ride and watch fireworks http://www.ocsr.net/specials.html and Monday Steph and I leave for a 4 day Yurting trip at http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_98.php - ah full moon on the beach!

Adventure up north at Calisa's went well. Bit hectic though & C and I were both sleep deprived my stay :P
I was loopy during Jeff's ritual but it was so good to work with everyone again... Kaeti was there too!!
Lady E has a cool house, I love her upstairs... and she went to a park with us and I was able to snap a few pics of the kids playing :)

The only hiccup was on the way home, the train was hours late and we had to get off and take a bus at one point. But I did get to see 'Escape to Witch Mountain' new version, and it wasn't as bad as feared, kind of cute actually. Plus my tickets were so dirt cheap that it still felt like a bargain.

Happy 4th to those who celebrate it!

If we put you on the market, it looks like you'd be worth $585 million. Of the 42 different scenarioes, you said you couldn't be bought on 8 of them.

For the record, every time you refused to do something for any amount of money, it added another $50 million to your score (hey, I had to assign it SOME sort of dollar value).

So, you've definitely got your limits. Some people will do anything for money, and while you'll go reasonably far, there are a few lines that you'd never cross. That's the important thing, too - if money is the ONLY motivator in your life, then maintaining any real relationships or friendships becomes impossible. You understand that, and while you appreciate that having the extra cash could be a lot of fun, you're not the sort of person to sell out everyone and everything.

Chill day [Jan. 16th, 2009|11:15 pm]
Took the day off from work to go to an early morning eye appointment across town. :)
(Ordered new glasses and made another date for contacts)

Then spent the rest of the morning getting my hair cut & buying shoes. How very girly of me hun? :P
Plus bought Powerball tickets - tis nice to day dream.

I even took a nap when I got home!!
Then out of the blue Jeff IM me... it was good to hear from him & get caught up on some gossip. He told me Tim & Autumn are splitville, a bit about his place, job, & such.

Later I made lasagna & salad for dinner, played around on puter, and watched TV!!
Today was a great chill out day - I so needed a break from the usual usual.

I own too much crapola [Oct. 6th, 2008|09:37 pm]
[mood | full]

Tried to find all my Samhain deco tonight, re-realized I'm a serious packrat. Took me over an hour & I haven't even found some stuffola that I know I have... hehe, let alone the items I've probably forgot about.

Bleck, there's craft (Witchy and other) that I haven't made use of in over 3 years, only looking at it when I need to find something. If I had a house, this wouldn't be such a big deal... but there's NO space here. I can't even walk in my closet unless stuff gets moved out first. :(

When Imbolc comes around I'm going to make an effort to get rid things.

Jummmbled update [Sep. 27th, 2008|11:21 pm]
Almost went out with Dea today :P
Car is having issues so I had to cancel on her. I then took it in and got the oil change and a few other minor things done. (Which took forever) Turns out also that it needs a new driver side headlight. My Neon has funny shaped lights and needs a special tool to change it. Darn. I know there's more things wrong with the car, but I can't afford to take it in to a real car DR at present.

Did take Steph out to look at costumes afterwards. She's got her hopes set on a kimono, she's really into the Asian thing right now... that's not going to be easy to find, may have to search the net for one. *Ponders*

Have gotten out with Dea a few times over the last couple of weekends. We've ventured out to two local farmers market and such. That's been lots of fun.
& on one of our adventures I scored two pairs of jeans! Jeans never fit me right, but these do! (Aside from being a bit big)

Works, well, work. I do like what I do - the hours are killing me though. Can't believe I'm going to try to get back to school too. Yelp I must be crazy.

Oh yeah a GREAT BIG *POKE* to everyone... updates people!

Yelp [Sep. 23rd, 2008|05:47 pm]
Bloody Mary
You scored 53% Cardinal, 38% Monk, 53% Lady, and 24% Knight!

You are a lady, but you are also wicked. You hide behind a gentile face doing what seems proper in the eyes of others but underneath it all you are scheming and plotting to rule the land. If someone stands in your way, a little bit of poison might make things easier for both of you.
You scored high as both a Lady and the Cardinal. You can try again to get a more precise description of either the Cardinal or the Lady, or you can be happy that you're an individual.

M lost me [Sep. 11th, 2008|02:01 pm]
[mood | annoyed]

Yesterday Dea drop me off for work :) M had a day shift/training.
Yesterday M was supposed to pick me up... (haha, this whine's going to be hard to figure out right?)
I waited, a friend from work waited with, we see M drive by us (I try to flag him down) and he's off.
Friend jumps in her car and gives chase & I stay put... but he's long gone. She heads home, I wait.
Eventually I start walking home.
A block from home M pulls up. 6pm (I got off at 5)
He says he got lost (That's why I sent him our worksite web driving directions the night before, & told him to PARK somewhere in the parking lot & I find him.)
I should've just begged Dea to pick me up too. :(

You Are 48% Goth

You definitely have some gothicness going on, but you're far from being a stereotypical goth.

You enjoy certain elements of goth culture, but you're not going to be into something simply because it's goth.

It's likely that you're the type of person who totally defies labels. Good for you!

If you are into something, it's because you sincerely love it. Not because it projects a certain image.

Ranting ahead, had to cross post! [Aug. 19th, 2008|10:34 pm]
Remembering the days... when PUBLIC school use to be FREE for all to attend. (Well except for lunches, clothes, etc) Remember then?

My daughter is starting Middle school -Twality-, 6th grade! Not looking forward to school clothes buying or getting her supplies, but started and knew it was coming... so not really a big deal, and the actual looking at stuff is fun, they've got some really nifty supplies now-a-days. However...

Today in the mail we received her new school info packet. With bus routes and supply list and such. Cool. Then reading further the real fun stuff began.
8$ Atlas (6th graders - required)
15$ PE Uniform (Required)
20$ Student Body Fees (Required)
150$ Outdoor School (6th graders only - required) {{& Just what in the hell is outdoor school? Something akin to camp?, I know it has an overnight stay... but THAT's all I know about it/best guess... when do I get the info for that? WHY in the HECK is it REQUIRED?}}
20$ Yearbook (Optional) {{Yeah, like we'd get that after seeing the above)}

YELP, that's 193$ REQUIRED extra dough that seems needed to be forked over so my daughter can attend school in my district. Oh and the nerve of the packet/principle letter to state that (School starts the 3rd, like two weeks from now) they wanted to give us a heads up to have enough time to plan to pay for it. (Ending of last school year might've been a better heads up, you think?)
193$ dollars is a lot of money for those on a budget or not fucking RICH. (At the beginning of the month too, can we say rent time?)... What do they do if someone doesn't/can't pay? Kick the kid out of PUBLIC school... sue the parents? What? Is there a your family is too poor to attend normal public school alternative public school out there? Make the kid wear a I'm poor sign?
Though if you qualify for free/reduced lunches you still have to pay these fees, but you can make payments. (We don't qualify)

Just throwing this $tidbit$ in for the fun of it -
Lunches - $2.80, $.50 more if you want a carton of milk with that. That's 14 dollars a week, or $56 a month... without milk or breakfast - breakfast is $1.75, and another 50 cents if you want milk with it. Can you imagine having more than one kid in middle school? SHESH!!!
(How'd you go into bankruptcy Jim? My kids are in middle school!)

I'm not liking this start to the new school year... Also on a sidenote, music is a required class... either band, orchestra, or choir.
Yeah, we picked choir (No extra cost like with band or orchestra... you know small things like instruments and band uniforms.)
My daughter is not musically inclined... has NO interest in it what-so-ever. She's an artist, you know drawing and paint and such. Think they offer art? Nope. I swear if homeschooling wasn't such a pain in the a$$ I'd be pulling her out of this crap.

Sorry all, thus ends rant........ for now :P

Your result for The Mythological Goddess Test ...

Minerva
Indeed, you are 75% erudite, 50% sensual, 50% martial, and 58% saturnine.

Another virgin Goddess (Diana or Artemis being the other), Minerva was, just like her Greek counterpart Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom and Freedom as well as an all powerful Goddess of War, which made her a most formidable opponent indeed.
Among the many disciplines that fell under her control were: writing, the sciences, architecture, embroidery, and just about anything else dealing with artistic skills, wise counsel, and of course battle and warfare.

Like Athena, owls were considered sacred to Minerva, representing wisdom. She was a very wise warrior, respected by the Roman legions.

She was also, no kidding, the Goddess of Women's Rights and patroness of career women.

On the upside [Jun. 30th, 2008|07:34 pm]
[mood | calm]

Taking a moment to mark the upside of life lately...

Tomorrow is my first paid day :) & today was my last extern day. This week I only have to work Monday & Tuesday with Wednesday having me doing an exit interview for school.
The weekend had a couple of happy shiny highlights... Sunday I drove Dea down to Wal Mart for supply shoppin' & girly time....later Steph and I enjoyed a Thunderstorm and hung out... Steph watched Free Willy for the first time.
Saturday was a trip to the beach, Steph took Summer with...
I do love the coast!
Oh & M installed the AC Saturday too, so on the hottest day so far we had a cool bedroom to retreat to! Very nice.

Practically did nothing all day (2 loads of laundry & quick trip to the g-store) and it felt good... slept in and everything!
Lately I've been ubber busy - externing, housework, Steph stuff, ect.. ect... so my extra day off (Monday) I'm planning on doing as little as possible too.
However tomorrow I've gotta take Steph to the craft store and get her school project supplies & help her with that, plus I need to get a few personkal & house supplies. Man, I feel like I need a wife. :P

Very much looking forward to C's visit next weekend, I don't know all what we're going to do, but I'm sure we'll have fun.

Going outside for a minute or two to enjoy the stormy weather :)
